I replaced the engine in August 2012 with a used motor when it developed a head gasket leak. It later turned out the block itself had light corrosion between the gasket and the block. This engine sounds like it lost a valve/broken rod, it runs really rough and blows a lot of white smoke. The truck stills runs and moves, however i would not drive this down the road in its condition. Like i stated it does come with another long block for a core.
